The Very Rev. Kate Bobbitt
The Very Rev. Kate Bobbitt
Interim Associate Rector
I am excited to serve God in this place and be a part of the Galilee community. I bring a background of experience in different church sizes from single clergy to large staff; from urban (Trinity Church, Arlington) to suburban (St. John’s McLean and Eastern Shore Chapel); in the Dioceses of Virginia and Southern Virginia. For four years I chaired the ethics committee at a large retirement community (Goodwin House, Alexandria) and served on the Diocese of Virginia Committee on Aging and the Committee of Related Organizations.
In the Diocese of Southern Virginia, I served on the Executive Board and am currently Dean of Convocation 2 (hence the “Very” in my title) and serve on the Ecclesiastical Court. As a graduate of the Virginia Theological Seminary, I serve as class Steward for the class of 1993. My husband, Rosser, and I were born and raised in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and have three children, all grown: Myra Hope, Foye, and Max. Rosser was a career soldier and now serves on the research staff of the Institute of Defense Analyses.
