GALILEE ANNOUNCES ELEVENTH RECTOR
The Vestry of Galilee Church is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Mr. Andrew D. Buchanan of New Milford, CT as the eleventh Rector of Galilee Church.
Fr. Buchanan is the present Rector of Saint Paul’s Church in Brookfield, CT. He has held that position since 2003. Previous to his tenure at Saint Paul’s, Rev. Buchanan was the Associate Rector at Trinity Church in Tarrifville, CT for six years.
Fr. Buchanan attended St. Andrew’s-Sewanee Preparatory School before he matriculated on the Domain to The University of The South-Sewanee where he graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. He received a post-graduate Watson Fellowship for further study in Dunblane Scotland where he concentrated on the study of bag-piping – an instrument that he plays professionally.
He received his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA in 1997 and not long afterwards matriculated to Yale Divinity School where he earned the degree of Master of Sacred Theology in 2003.
Andrew is a fifth-generation Californian where he was born on January 9, 1970. He is married to Dana Buchanan, an internist and pediatric physician. Together they have three children: Rachael (3), Luke (1) and Andrew (a few months old).
He will begin his tenure at Galilee on September 1, 2009.
